When I switch on the TV and open the programme guide, it can take up to a minute to load the programme information (the programme title, time and description).
The schedule shows lots of instances of “no information” where the programme title should be:
Now I have an internet connection in the same house as the TV. Wouldn’t it be great if the TV connected to the internet, downloaded the programme information by itself, and cached it in the TV’s memory? If so, when I turned on the TV, the programme information would be displayed in the guide instantly. I could select an episode of Masterchef on Ice: Get Me Out of Here and start watching without having to wait for the guide to load.
That would be nice.
