Accessibility
This website has been designed with specific accessibility features to make it easier to use for people with disabilities.
Web standards compliance
This site has been designed according to the W3C's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0, which is a worldwide industry standard of best practice for website design.
Links are included in the footer of all pages to validate XHTML and validate CSS.
Well structured markup
All pages on this site use structured, semantic markup to describe the structure of the page. A H1 tag is used for the website title, H2 tags are used for page titles, and H3 tags are used for subtitles within the body of a page.
Navigation menus are structured as lists and the main site navigation can be skipped.
Typography
The type used on this site is fully scalable with browser text size settings. Navigation menus are text-based—no background images are used in the menus—and scale gracefully with the browser.
Links
Where appropriate, links include a title attribute to describe the target link in greater detail. While I try to avoid jargon, where abbreviations have been used, they are described in full using the abbr element. This assists text to speech programs and also has the bonus benefit of being read by search engines.
